2/6/10 Indianapolis, IN - The Colts are one of a handful of teams that were put up for sale following this past 2009 season. They are, however, one of the few that attracted new ownership quite quickly. Stephen Long from Atlanta purchased the franchise in hopes to turn it into a contender.

Last year produced mixed results for the expansion team with a record of 7-9. One of the hightlights of the year came the week against the Jets when linebacker Paul Posluszny won the defensive player of the
week award with 5 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.

Headed into the offseason the Colts are looking to bolster their roster by adding talent to key positions.

The quarterback position is one that could be addressed. Rookie Josh Freeman played decent, but leaves a lot of room for improvement. Veterans Charlie Batch and Mark Brunell are both at the ends of their careers.

Another possible route for the Colts, and more likely, would be a wide receiver. They reall you could use a go-to number one guy. It is doubtful that Dez Bryant from Oklahoma State would be available, but Golden Tate from Notre Dame or Demaryius Thomas from Georgia Tech would make great targets for Freeman.
Defensively the Colts really need help at cornerback. Let's face it, in this league cornerback is key. They prove to be almost as important as the quarterback. Indianapolis' best CBs last season were Aaron Glenn (37) and Fred Smoot (30), both on the downslopes of their careers. Right now there are two corners that really stand out, but might be gone before the 13th pick. They are Joe Haden from Florida and Earl Thomas from Texas. A steal in maybe the 6th round would be Devin
Ross from Arizona that runs a 4.43 forty.

Despite this team's glaring holes, they have a lot of young talent. While they may not challenge the Texans or Jaguars for the divisional title, they shouldn't come in last. I see them finishing with the same record as this year 7-9 only due to their harder schedule.

Saturday, February 27 all eyes will be focused here in Indianapolis for the 2010 Scouting Combine. Some of those players will end up calling Lucas Oil Stadium home.
